How we verify and protect you

School transport means children and money, so we check before we list. Here is exactly what we do, what we do with your information, and what we cannot promise.

What “Verified” means

The business’s operating licence is checked

A SkoolRun team member reads the Scholar Transport Operating Licence or permit, and checks it is current. If it expires, the business disappears from what parents see until it uploads the new one.

The vehicle’s permit sticker number is on file, and the association is named

We record the number on the vehicle’s permit sticker and the transport association the business belongs to. Associations can also confirm which operators are really their members.

Drivers are vetted separately

Drivers upload their South African ID, driver’s licence, PrDP and police clearance. A team member reviews each document before the driver shows as Verified.

What you see

Only verified businesses

Your school’s page, Find transport and “Businesses near you” list only verified businesses. A business that is not verified, or whose licence has expired, is not shown and cannot be contacted through SkoolRun.

Check the vehicle in front of you

Every member vehicle carries a SkoolRun sticker with a QR code. Scan it to see the business, whether it is verified, and the number plate. If the sticker or the plate does not match, do not get in, and report it.

What we cannot promise

Verified is a check of documents, not a guarantee of conduct

We cannot promise how any driver behaves, and the licensing authority, not SkoolRun, decides whether a licence is valid. Use your own judgement: meet the driver, see the vehicle, and trust your instincts. Never pay a deposit before you have.

SkoolRun is not an emergency service

In an emergency call 10111 (police) or 112 (from a cellphone) first. SkoolRun alerts and notifications depend on mobile signal and cannot send help.

Your information

Private by default

Your child’s details are shared only with you and with the business and driver linked to your child. Schools never see parent or driver details. A driver is tracked only while a run is live, and you see the map only when the driver is heading to your child. You can delete your account at any time.

If something is wrong

Tell us

Use “Report this business” in the app or on the business’s page, or message us on WhatsApp 083 584 4788. Our team reviews reports and acts on them.
